Noticing Different Ways of Travellers

When I was a kid, I always want to travel. It has always been a dream to be in another place, another country especially. It started when I was in 2nd grade, having this student exchange- foreign foster family abroad program was introduced to us, that was the beginning of my curiosity. I know we didn’t have a lot so I didn’t even asked my parents about it, if they can send me to that. Yet, that is the beginning of my traveling passion.

It was then when I start thinking, “How is it like living in the other countries?” (The program was in UK), “I wonder how is it, if I was born in that country?”, “How different is it from my kind of living now?” and a lot more… Those are just the few that started in my early years of living

Travel Destinations of Pakistan

Pakistan, an ironical hellhole, as painted by the media, is a unique place to visit along with all its idiosyncrasies.

Pakistan encapsulates great variety, from hidden bazaars in the narrow streets of Rawalpindi to Mughal architecture of Lahore that rivals the Taj Mahal of Agra. Pakistan is a microcosm of the whole world where you can find places ranging from highest ever mountains like K-2 to plains and deserts. Pakistan's landscape is as fractured and unsettled as its history.

Traveling from Singapore to Malaysia

By flight: Convenience and speed

From Singapore, many airlines fly to Malaysia's airports, particularly to cities like Kuala Lumpur (the capital of Malaysia) and to the state of Penang. Flights to smaller cities like Ipoh are more restricted and is only served by one airline, Fireflyz. For trips to East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak), flying is the only option. For more details, please refer to the airlines' respective websites: Airasia, Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Singapore Airlines (SIA).

For the budget airlines, if you wish to obtain a cheap fare, it is wise to book earlier, especially if you know the exact dates which you are traveling. Airasia in particular has great promotions at certain times of the year!

Another alternative: Bus

From Singapore, you can take public buses which will bring you across the Malaysian border to the state of Johor. These buses can be taken from bus stops at the Kranji MRT station. More details can be obtained from the Lonely Planet link included below.

Holiday in Malaysia, Penang Island

Previously known as the Pearl of the Orient, Pulau Pinang is a charming and beautiful holiday destination. Pulau Pinang got her name from the abundance of betel nut palms scattered along her soft, sandy beaches. “Pinang” means betel nut in the Malay language. The translation of "Pulau Pinang" means Island of the Betel Nut. However, in English this island is called Penang.

The history of Penang started with Captain Francis Light. This charismatic English Captain persuaded the Sultan of Kedah to grant Penang Island to the British East India Company. According to local folklore, when Francis light arrived on Penang Island in 1786 he fired gold coins into the surrounding forest to induce his men to clear the area. 14 years later, the Sultan of Kedah further granted a strip of land on the mainland across the channel to Francis Light.

Why You Should Visit Dubai

Attention world travellers! Want to visit someplace exotic, yet where its easy to be a tourist? Have you always dreamed of traveling to the Arabian Peninsula?

Its time to think about a visit to Dubai, one of the seven United Arab Emirates along the northern shore of the African continent, on the Persian Gulf. Sandwiched between Saudi Arabia and Oman is the very rich, very Westernized nation of the UAE.

Dubai is most certainly not located within a Third World country. In fact, Dubai is one of the richest nations in the world, due in large part to its vast oil resources. My brother-in-law, who works for Microsoft, has been to Dubai a number of times. His one word description: opulence.

Which Travel Destinations from the US are Less Expensive - Europe or Asia

It is difficult to answer the question Which travel destinations are cheaper from the U.S., is it Asia or Europe? because there are a number of factors involved.

The first is how are you going to travel to Europe or Asia? Given that the United States is separated from each by oceans, you will have to travel by either airplane or ship. A ship will obviously take longer but, prices of the two may not be that much different.

The next major factor to consider is the cost of food and lodging at your destination. Obviously these costs will vary widely depending upon whether you stay in a luxury resort, an inexpensive hotel, a youth hostel or something in between,I t will also generally vary depending upon whether you stay in major cities or smaller cities or towns.

Pattaya To Cambodia Visa Run

Any foreigner who lives in Thailand for any length of time will find that eventually a 'Visa Run' is essential. Various visas for Thailand can be had at embassies in countries around the world but sadly they eventually expire. In most instances it is necessary to leave Thailand to obtain a new visa. This may mean flying to a different country and visiting the Thai embassy or simply flying out and flying back again. The nationals of most countries entering Thailand by air without a visa are granted a 'Visa Exempt' stamp which grants a non extendable stay of 30 days. Those entering by land are granted just 15 days.

Anyone entering on a Visa Exemption and planning to stay more than a month will have to do a visa run of some sort.

Holiday in Malaysia, Langkawi Island

Known as “Jewel of Kedah”, Pulau Langkawi is an archipelago of 104 islands of which 5 of these tiny islands can only be seen during low tide. Kedah is a north western State in Peninsular Malaysia and to the north of Kedah is Thailand. These tropical islands are situated at the meeting point of the Straits of Malacca and the Andaman Sea. The largest island among these is named Langkawi. Langkawi comes from two Malay words, Lang and Kawi. “Lang” means Eagle and “Kawi” means the colour reddish brown. Put together it simply means reddish brown eagle. Maybe there were once many reddish brown eagles in these islands. Langkawi is shrouded with so many legends and myths that people called it Legendary Island. To me, the beauty of this island is legendary.

If you are fond of traveling and visiting other places, Philippines should be a part of your itinerary. You’ll find everything that you want here – beautiful places, delicious food and friendly people. You’ll definitely never run out of things to do (and see) here in my country.

I would like to present to the readers the natural wonders of the Philippines. There are many, believe me, but in the interest of space (and time), I have limited them to seven. These are by no means official but these are made by nature and are some of the top tourist destinations in my country.

How to Protect Yourself From A Soi Dog Attack In Thailand

In Thailand confrontations with aggressive Soi dogs is an everyday common occurrence. Local Thais know how to deal and fend off and protect themselves from Soi dogs so they come out unscathed. Sadly there are reports of death by dog mauling on children. Fortunately those stories are few and far in between.

As a short stay tourist you may not come across a vicious Soi dog especially when you are in the heavily traveled tourist destinations in Bangkok. But what do you do when you come across a wild Soi dog eying you like a t-bone steak? Do you fight or do you run?
